I love you guys! and holy mackeral.  i hope you are ready.. because i have the most epic story of my LIFE to tell you.  I dont know how much i want to share.. but I will see....

Ok, so wednesday, i got to my new area with my new companion, Alotenango with Hna Kap.  Hna Kap is from highland ut, and she is still in her training.  she is SOOOO awesome.  Alotenango... is part of the zona antigua, the zone i always go back to... but it isnt a ward.. it isnt even a branch!!  it is an extension of a ward, o sea a basic unity or something like that.  on a good day they have 25 or 30 people attending at church.

So that was wednesday, on thursday and for a bout a week before, the missionaries had been getting lots of warnings from everyone telling them to be careful and what not because of a little problem.  well, we kept getting the warnings from people,

Friday, there was something that happened near our house and we kept getting the warnings.

Saturday, we kept getting warnings but even stronger!!  (there was a group of poeple in town.  someday i will explain who and what they did, but for now, it was just a group of people) so saturday night, people were telling us that no one could be in the street after 8 because the men of the town would be patroling the streets and if they found someone, they would ask for there info and if anything looked fishy, they would burn that person right on the spot.  So we were just thinking, oh, ok, sounds good! well just call the mission president to ask if we can go home an hour early and leave an hour earlier in the morning.  so we called him, explained what was happening, the sitch, and then he said, ill call you right back.  so we waited, not long later we were informed that we needed to go straight home, pack our belongings as quickly as possible and a car would be there to pick us up in 30 minutes.  So we did it, and we got several calls, from the mission pres, from a man named Rudy, who is in charge of church security here in Guatemala, and from Hna Markham.  We packed, the car got there, we went to Ciudad Vieja to wait for another car, Rudy showed up from the capital and took us to antigua for the night.  then we went to church in antigua, worked that day with the sisters there and monday morning we were moved again to Amatitlan, and that is where we are now.  and they took the elders that were here and put them in our area.  Dont worry.  we are totally safe, im pretty sure the elders over there are safe and all is well.

Amatitlan is awesome.  we had to clean for all of our pday yesterday, because, it was the house of elders, but thats ok.  the house is super fancy.  The house in Alotenango was... well, i felt like we were camping.

But we have some sweet investigators here and members!  several members called us yesterday to give us a welcome to the ward and to tell us they are available to help when we need them.  sweet!

The cool part is that Hna Kap and i are together still!  in this sitch, apparently, the companionship is usually split up.  but we just get to emergency open an area!  its nice and hot here.. but thats ok.  we will live.

I am happy, safe and we continue to be safe.  I love you guys, Be safe and happy and i love you!!!

Love, hna Evans

My family!

I love you guys!  holy mackeral. hope is still not lost, but the bag still is.  dont worry, im still in hot pursuit.

This week was great.  ok, we got the call, that i knew was coming.  im leaving my area to finish the training of someone.  So next week, i will be in some other part of guatemala.  But its ok, im not going to be sad.  im just leaving the best ward in the world!  Serious, these members are so awesome.  They are always willing to help with whatever we need!  We have been taking pictures and everything with the members, converts, everybody.

Last night we got permission to eat strawberries at the bishops house.  They were so good.  obviously we took pictures of that too.

Im going to tell you a creepy story.  because im creepy a little.. did you know? well... Celeste, a woman in the ward, was pregnant, and during her pregnancy, she couldnt leave her house much.. so she wasnt able to go to church for a few months.  so we would visit her because she was kind of less active anyway to begin with.  but then she had her baby july 1.. and the rumor here is that after having a baby, you have to wait 40 days to do anything. seriously, there are some woman who dont leave, dont shower, dont cook, nothing for 40 days.  others know that that is nonsense and still shower and whatnot.  but Celeste had a c section, so she had to heal and all, which is fine, but always used the excuse that she had to wait for the 40 days to pass to go to church again.  so one day, we were in the bishops car with him and his wife, because they come with us every wednesday to our appointments.  and out of no where i remembered Celeste. so i said, "Celeste finished her 40 days she can go to church now!" and everyone looked at me super weird, and then the bishop laughed so hard, and asked, "have you been counting?" and well, i wasnt, but it came to me as revelation. ;) but last night, we were doing a family home evening at the bishops house and Celeste came with her baby.  and the bishop asked me, in front of everyone, "how many days old is Celestes baby?" totally joking of course, but everyone laughed again.  good times. her baby has about 49 days under his belt now.

yesterday we were telling Abraham that i would be leaving and they were all mourning over the loss... when Abes mom said to me that if i didnt go to say goodbye before leaving the country she would never speak to me again.. She is so funny. always is.  But i think she might be serious this time.  haha.. somehow i have to say goodbye to her.........

Nate, i hope you are so excited to go to the temple!  because its the best.  go as often as you can while you are home because in the mission field, its not likely that you will go very often.

bueno.  the talk in the november 2013 ensign is super good.. by.. i dont remembe her name.. but it was from the womans conference and it talks about keeping covenants and stuff.  i think she was the second speaker in the womans conf. but its worth a good read.

I love you guys so much!  today i read in mosiah 25, 26, and 27 and i love it.  i hope we all are repenting everyday and then working like crazy to bring others to the truth as well.

be safe and happy and have fun!!

love, hna evans

my family!!

Holy mackeral. i love you guys and boy do i have a story for you!!!  this week has been.. so weird.  but so great.

Abraham got confirmed, the cute little toad, he got all baptized and everything. a real member now.

we went to the zona 1 last tuesday for pday and that went great.  a little odd, we ran into a man, a really weird man, even for guatemala, and he looked at me, said, "i remember you.  you were in zona 15 a year ago by the temple werent you?!"  i freaked out a little because, yes, i was!!  but all is well, he is a member, thats what he says.. and we ran so all is good.

next, we had divisions with some more sisters, and get this, my divisions bag, the pinkish bag that goes with the luggage, (mom, dont kill me) got left on a bus.. and is currently MIA.  BUT! i havent lost hope that i will find it someday.  also, my good running shoes, a preach my gospel, a notebook, a fun skirt, toothbrush, makeup, and that awesome horse pajama was in there... but, the secretaries fo the mission went looking for it for a coulple hours.. the poor guys. they didnt find it, but they stopped every bus they saw that was in that route.. dont worry.  hope is not lost!!  but, just in case, i might need new running shoes when i get home.

also, abrahams brother said something super funny, he always does.  he said, "dancing is the happiness of the body".  and abraham said once, (because my comp said he is so funny) "in my heart, there is much joy."

oh yeah, here is some news, i got a phone call the other day.. and im going to train again!  so that means i am leaving prados, because i am finishing the training of a sister... this area has been good to me.  but seriously, i did not see that one coming.

also, sister Markham, the new presidents wife, came with us to visit several people.  she still cant speak much spanish, but her spirit was strong enough that i didnt have to translate much.

its been a great week.  we have seen lots of miracles.  i love the mission.

be safe and happy and i love you!!!
Love, hna evans

My family!!!

i love you guys!  and goodness, abraham the little 8 year old got baptized.  that was so crazy.. he still had to go to church one more time to get batpized yesterday, but with going to church yesterday, it was going to take care of it.  but we showed up to his house to take him to chrch and he was locked inside!!!!  his mom left and accidentally locked it. and she had the key... it was so funny.. but so sad... but also funny... him and his sister just stared at us through the barred windows asking, well, what are you goig to do to get us out?  we thought.... and thought ... but had to go to church.. then we got permision to take him to another ward that started later.  so.... we ran over there, his mom was home by then, and we got to the ward of the assistants of the president and secretaries.  and boom.  he got baptized.  he was so excited. he wanted my watch.. and since it was broken, i decided, why not? so i gave it to him.  wann know who has a sweet tan line?  me. i do.. im so white.. but now i have a different watch to cover my line.

ay.. i have a story. but someday i will tell it.. just ask me about the 31 of july 2014 someday.  and i will tell ou.

umm.. dont hate me.. but i cant think of anything else to say... but, i hear that rubelsi already got to utah, hope that all went well, and that it all makes sense the letter i sent...

I also hope you are all doing good ith your scripture reading, prayers, family prayers, fhe, and all that.. and going to church all nice and good. seriously guys, those things are so important.  we find families all the time that are members that are inactive or going to another church just because they stopped praying, or reading or they got offended.  but it isnt worth it.  they are missing out on so much happiness and lots of blessings.

we had a meeting at the mission presidents house.  that was crazy, i havent been there sinice the day i entered the mission field.  so weird to go back.  and its so weird that it is already august!  where does the time go?!

ok, i love you gusy, be happy and safe and have fun!

love, hna evans
