my family!!!

I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!  ANd oh my goodness I have changes again.  Boom.  I have other fish to fry... I would say bigger fish, but there are some pretty big fish to fry still in San Pedro Las Huertas.  They are closing one area in San Pedro, so there will only be one companionship here now.. same with Antigua, there will only be one companoinship there too.  They said its because there are lesser sisters coming in these days and have to start dividing them and conquering.

Rene knows this church is true!!!!! But, get this, he isnt ready to live all the commandments he says.. we'll just see.  This week the sister that stays will visit him and I have faith that he will have changed his mind.  Beatrice didnt quite get baptized.... in fact, she is mad at us.. why?  good question... but I have faith that she too will get baptized aqui pronto. ... Sweet little Torivia, I love that woman. we took pics with her and I will try to send those today.  She is so cute.  she accepted to get baptized on the 27 of this month.

We also made pupusas with Maria Elena, a member here, that was so fun! and so delish!  I have no idea how to explain it.. alls i know is that Im totally going to be eating tortillas made by hand from now on and forever with beans and also pupusas.  I love it.

this week we had to do divisions with the other sisters in our area to teach the other sisters where all our investigators are and everything since the area is getting closed.. and in a visit with a less active man that comes every once in a while, he drinks too, we invited him to repent, and he has done that a million times, but then we invited him to talk to the branch president.  And he said, oh, thats not something Ive done.. I think I will... It was so precious, he honestly is tired of having this vice, he just needs help!  sometimes we get caught up in our sins and dont realize how bad it is until it is REALLY bad and have to ask for help.  There are some things we honestly cant repent of alone.  What a blessing it is that God has chosen people on the earth to help us with our problems.  They dont even judge us, I know the branch pres will never judge Pedro the wrong way, he just wants to help.  But he cant force his help upon Pedro either.  Like with Christ, He cant force His atonement upon us, we have to just go to Him.  Our part is accepting the help, He already had done everything.  But its a humbling process... Definitely not an easy process, but I have seen so many people changed by repentance and it is such a blessing.

Also... guys, I cant believe I forgot to tell you... a parrot bit me.  We were in a lesson and it was sitting by me, so I tried to touch it.. it was super angry.. bit me... and I almost killed it.. whoops!  But good news, I didnt, i just knocked him off the edge of the couch.. no prob.

Someday I will also tell you all about the prosessions here.  The catholics march up and down the road in robes that creep me out making music that also creeps me out and carry huge statues of Christ, virgins, saints, whatever they want, and make carpets on the street out of flowers and sawdust and lots of random fruits and worship all these things.... if your question is, "well, how do you cross the street during all of that?" the answer is "you cant."

On a little bus yesterday there was a worldly song in spanish (but its in english too, by enrique iglesias the hero song) that came on and I was being a good little missionary, not listening, and i saw 2 men close their eyes, start to sing, and start to cry with enrique.  Men here are very expressive.  They are very open about lots of things.  Crying and singing being a couple!

Oh.. and we had a fun experience at conference last week!  We were in antigua on saturday and san pedro on sunday.. but saturday happened, we were just finishing our studies after the first session and tried to leave to eat quick and found that we had been locked in the church!  completely.. with keys and everything!  We took pictures and luckily we got phones not long ago that are the ones that leave the house.. cell phones are what they are called and we called for help.  We were saved not long after.  good day.

Heck of a week, I have so many stories to tell you guys, but they will wait.  I love you guys!  Be safe and happy and adios!

Love, Hna Evans
