My family!
I love you guys! And you are probably wondering why i am writing you all today and not yesterday. buena pregunta. Well, its a long story.. and it will just have to wait. Lets just say we had a suprise trip to Esquintla. Some day I will clear that up. It really is a long story. But Esquintla is quite unique. Its like this, when you hit the boarder to get over there, there is a wall of humidity. A notable difference. its insane.
This week has been very interesting. Again, I'll just have to tell you about it later...
But it has also been SO GOOD!!!! Get this, we had zone conference on friday, general conference on saturday and sunday and it was the coolest weekend ever. Beatrice didnt get baptized if thats what you are wondering... we got to her house and she said she wanted to think about it some more. because her boss said not to jump into those things. So she waited.. and has been drinking coffee.. so... we will continue working with her...
We have some pretty sweet miracles pending. But Rene went to the Priesthood session on saturday! and we called him after and he said that it was way cool when President Monson spoke. He feels like he is a man called of God. Which is really really awesome!!! and he said, "I think this is the church." We said, "we do too." And on friday we met with him and he said he wastn so sure about things.. maybe he read too much, he thought too much about it and now its too late... we left him with alma 5 the last time, and he read it, hoping it would inspire him to make changes, get baptized, all that.. didnt work. in fact, in failed. he read all those questions and figured out just how imperfect he is. and it made him feel bad. and he almost tried to give up. But he didnt! and saturday he went to conference, loved it, and when the men from the branch were talking to him and introducing him to people they would say, and this is Rene, an investigator, and Rene asked them what it meant, why they kept calling him that, (guys, here is a hint, dont call investigators by that name... its awkward...)but they explained and then Rene said, well, when I get baptized, you cant call me that anymore! How sweet! He is getting baptized. On the 20 of April.
ANND!!! We found a super pilas family!! The mom is Jessica and the dad is Byron.. they moved here on saturday. from Quiche (no idea how to spell that. but its very far from here) and Jessica just got baptized in september over there and her husband has gone to church once with her... so we are going to baptize him aqui pronto as well. They just have to get married. they were separated wehn she got baptized, so it worked, but now they are not separated. and we will get them married this friday if we can get all the papers rounded up. But they are so sweet. They have nothing. they are living in a house of one room, no beds, one table, they have so little! And I know that they will be able to find happiness, even with nothing, in this gospel.
Another thing.. yesterday I contacted a woman who looked sad.. and she was! really sad! She was mad too! she said, "if you really wanted to help me, you would give me 200 quetzales!" she just got robbed, and also, has nothing.. the difference is that now she is mad at God, not turning to Him and trusting Him.
Also, another girl I contacted yesterday looked so scared.. well, first we passed her, but the Holy Ghost told me to go back so we went back, found her, I started talking and her fear just increased.... then she said, "Habla ingles?" and i said, "yes." "Oh goood! Because I dont speak spanish!!! Am I in San Juan?" "no... you are in Santa Catarina....." "oh nooooo!!" "but dont worry, san juan is right down that road over there!" "oh thank you!" boom. left. i didnt even get to contact her. She just ran.
Thats about where were at right now. I have so many things to tell you guys, its not even funny. I have learned so much in these last two transfers with Hna Aguilar... I can tellyou that I will never be the same. and Im not even mad! Iam learning how to rely on God in everything and not myself one bit! Becuase heres news! he is all powerful! We also finished the book of mormon! That was so fun! But thats about all for now.. love you guys!
