My family!!

I love you guys so much! and get this!  we did it! we contacted a grand total of 1016 people last week.  Holy mackeral.  That was so crazy.  not a joke.  we were talking to every soul that was breathing. dogs too.  haha.. well, not dogs. but you know what i mean. 

wow.l i have a mountain of things to tell you.  first, there is a member here Rubesli Coc, that went to utah for a few months (legally, dont worry) and i sent a bag with him with things in it.. for you guys obviously.. i gave him your phone number and the address to the house just in case, hes going to be in Salt lake, if you guys are going to salt lake any time soon, can you swing by and pick up the bag? he is going to call you guys this week to tell you where he is to pick up the bag.  if you can.. or are able.. 

next, we are going to be writing on monday next week, just so you know.  

next, how is Nates temple prep coming along? i want to hear all about that.  

next.. so we are teaching the veliz family still.. this is seriously their last week.  ya no mas.  but also, we visited Karina and Tania, they are so awesome.  so so awesome. and also, we are teaching a little kid, Abraham still.. he is so funny!! he has 8 years. he always asks, when is my baptism? also... a guy named Erik, he is also so funny.  we told him "after your baptism, will you prepare to recieve the priesthood?" and he laughed.  and then said, wait, are you serious? i can have that?

i love you guys so much!  oh yeah! last night, we had a fun experience.. all the lights went out in our area.. in the street too.. sketchy it was... but apparently we are supposed to get back to the house asap in that sitch.. so we did.. but when we got there, the lights kind of came back on.. so we visited our less active neighbors.  the lights were our for about 2 hours.. ish.. 

ok, that is my fun story for today.  hope all went well at Pres. Broughs homecoming.  

oh!! i have letters to send.. to some friends.. i sent the letter for you guys with Rubesli, but the others i will send stat.. and i sent a letter to you guys a few weeks ago.. it was pretty sweet.. hope it gets there soon.

i really do have a testimony of exact obedience.  we really cant say we love God and still break the commandments.

my family!!! 

i love you guys! and holy mackeral.. this week has been crazy. always is, but especially crazy.  Karina and Tania are still pilas, but the familia Veliz, they didnt get baptized still.. wehave divisions today, so i wont be able to go visit them with my companion, but we have a lesson plan that is super intense.  It will be great.  

Um... so one of the mission secretaries has been trying to call you guys, but he says that sometimes the call cuts off or something?  he needed to talk to you guys about something that im avoiding (travel plans....) but its alright.  i think he got all the stuff straightened out.  

This week we have a goal to contact 1000 people as a companionship... its going good, but my voice will be dead at the end of this week thats for sure.

I wanted to share a few things with you guys from my personal study.  its pretty neat!  so get this.  today i read a talk from november 2013 conference from Elder Bednar, he talked about paying tithing and all that... but then he got to a part... he said, " Sometimes we may ask God for success, and He gives us physical and mental stamina.  We might plead for prosperity, and we recieve enlarged perspective and increased patience, or we petition for growth and we are blessed with the gift of grace.  Hye may bestow up0on us conviction and donfidence as we strive to achieve worthy goals. and when we plead for relief from physical, mental, and spiritual difficulties, He may increase our resolve and resilience."   thats pretty sweet.  sometimes i think as humans, we ask for things and look in the direction that we want our answer to come from, but the answer is coming from a different side.. so we dont notice it.  Recently when the secretaries told us that there would no longer be changes in november, just october 28 or Dec 9, i started praying real hard to know when would be best to leave.  I prayed, and prayed and i wanted to stay til december. and i decided that i had recieved an answer.  but then they called again and said its not an option anymore, the area 70s say that we cant extend our missions anymore... so obviously, that was a hard thing to hear.  I learned a little more about Gods will... and how we have to make it our will. 

I love you guys.  hope you are all being so good and studying the scriptures, praying, having fhe, everything!  be so safe and happy and i love you guys!

My family!!!

surprise!  i didnt know i was going to write today.. so this is no ones fault.. but hi!

I love you guys. so much! Boom i said it.  we were all thinking it..  Ok, this week was great.  seriously.  we had 2 baptisms.  Karina and Tania. a mom and her daughter.  it was so great.  they were so ready. right after, they stood in the bathroom and hugged and cried.  it was way cool.  one of the coolest baptisms i have ever had.  they totally have felt the spirit in the church and they know that this is the true church.  It was a miracle to see them progress. they would tell us that that they didnt want to accept a date because it was so fast.  but we were praying so hard that they would get an answer and accept a date.  and then they got their answers, they accepted the date and they did it!  It was so great. if you ever about whether or not God hears and answers our prayers, i can tell you that si.  He does.  

This week was good.  we went to the change meeting, we didnt have changes btdubs, but it was great.  so many weird changes though... one of our zone leaders left us to go be an asistant to the president. (im sorry i cant spell anymore.. but someday i will learn again.. or maybe for the first time.  i dunno.)

Yesterday, in church, it was ward conference. and the stake president that is so pilas was talking and he was talking about how we need to remember to use words of love in our homes still.  he said, "y cuando fue la ultima vez que dijeron te amo" (when was the last time you said i love you?) and my comp responded in english, whispering to me " i love you." and he said, " y cuando dijeron te necesito" (when did you say i need you?) and again, she replies in english...whispering to me.. "i need you" and she busted up laughing at how funny she is.  She really is so funny.  I love her like a sista.  

Well, guys, i hope you are reading your scriptures.  because its gold.  pure gold.  and the conference talks, i was reading them, and well, i came across one that i want you guys to read. Obedience Through Our Faithfulness by Elder Perry.

My family!!!!

 I love you guys so much!

i have news.  if you heard, yes there was an earthquake... it was pretty big.  lemme tell you a story.  

5:25 am i hear my comp say, "hna Evans!! hna Evans!!  wake up! there is an earthquake!  Get up!" i was so out of it.  so i grabbed the phone, and my flip flops and we went to stand in the door.  i have never experienced an earthquake like that... i just remember rocking back and forth half asleep, hearing the house creak a little, and then it almost would stop and then kept  going, a little stronger... and then.. it ended.. and nothing else happened to us.  but we got the soft part of it.  really far away, there is a place called San Marcos.  it was really bad there.. houses fell, schools fell, hospitals.. we only heard a little, but here we are all fine.  Dont worry one bit.  

So the two people that got married not long ago and the wife got married, well, we were talking to Pedro, the husband, and he said, "ya know, you werent joking when you told me i would get so many blessings for getting married. We have been so blessed ever since we got married."  its true guys, God blesses us when we are obedient.  

so all those fallen baptisms last week were hard, but last night, we visited some really awesome people.  Karina and Tania.  mom and daughter.  they have been saying no to a date for baptism because they want to be more familiar with the church.  but last night, they shared with us how they got their answers that this is the true churh.  karina "the night we got home from the activity in the church i felt so great!  So close to God.  when i got home and my family started attacking us and getting mad about us going to this church i felt like they ripped me away from God.  That was my answer.  I know its true. I am closer to God in this church."  Tania "the first time we went to church, i felt so happy.  i got home, and that night i went to sleep, so calm. and last week, when we couldnt go to church, i felt really bad!  but to go again this week, I walked in and just felt like, 'its ok. im  here'. and that is why i want to get baptized."  so we challenged them for this sunday, and they said yes.  they are so awesome. i love them. 

This week i recieved revelation while a woman told us she wouldnt get baptized until it came from her heart to do it.. and i thought, why does it matter if it comes from your heart?! its a commandment. if i waited every fast sunday until it came from my heart to fast, i would probably never fast. but it comes from my heart to obey Gods commandments because i love Him.  so i do it.  Sometimes we dont have to understand why, we just need to do it. 

I love my mission so much. i wrote a letter for you guys, ill send it soon.  But ill just warn you, its pretty sweet if you judge it on a guatemala scale.  like on a scale from 1 to 2 complete families on one motorcycle, i think its about an 8.  easy.  

Guys, i am beyond excited for Nate.  That is the coolest thing ever.  The philipines!!!  I dont know anything about there.. but i feel like from the stalking i did at Kylee Richardson, Nate will be super tall amongst those people.  

What is Marees email address?  i want to write her some day.
