MY FAMILY!!!
Holy cow. I love you guys. and get this! we
got our new mission president! President and Sister Markham. They are so
awesome. So different, but so awesome. President Markham gave us
high fives!! We were so surprised. But they are both really cool.
It will be fun to see what they teach us. I love them already.
Wow. this week...que locura. we had divisions like
normal, but then, we also had 3 baptisms set up... and they all fell through..
i have only ever planned to kidnap someone on one or two, maybe three other
ocasions in my life. but we wanted to kidnap to Ramon.. because.. he is
kind of old.. and sometimes just leaves with his sons.. But he is totally
sane! dont even worry about that. But on sunday, we get to his
house to take him to church, and get this! His son took him at 6 in the
morning. que bendicion. So that one didnt work.. and the familia
Veliz, they will get baptized. i know it. the wife is just
prideful.. and sometimes dificult.. but all is well in zion.
Seriously, i love it here. I love my area, i love my
companion, i love it all!!! Its the greatest! I wouldnt mind being
a missionary for the rest of my life. I think that should be an option.
to sign up for a life time mission. so much easier than real life
stuff. oh, speaking of that, when will nate get his call? and how is
everyone doing on their preach my gospel reading?
so Ramon, we were talking to him about his interview and asked
him something about committing a crime and going to jail. he happily told
us. "yes, i went to jail once." we almost died. this
short little man, that is balding, that is so funny has gone to jail. we
asked why, just for kicks... and he told us. this happened like 39 years ago.
"well, i never did like getting home early (that is the best way to start
a story like this) and i was waiting at a bus stop, but along came a bus and i
threw a rock at it, it broke the window, and i went to jail. I was there for a
few weeks.", guys, if you dont like getting home early, i wouldnt recomend
throwing a rock at a car. but he is so cute. the cutest old man.
Also, im telling ya, the people here, they dont understand
manners. If someone is full, in my mind, the way to be polite is to let
them know thayt they dont have to keep eating. but no. here, i was
at lunch, i told the woman, "thank you! that was so delicous, im so
full." the woman "here have more!" me "no really, im
full!" her"no really, eat more." so she put more
food on my plate. I will tell you right now.. that doesnt fall well with
me. para nada. but, if you ever have problems with your stomach, i
got a recipe from a member that works miracles. olive oil, lime juice,
and salt. boom. just a little of each. cleans ya right out.
like, all the way out.
we are getting ready to celebrate the 4 of july. it will
be great. i have my america outfit all planned out. my agenda is
all decorated. and we will eat pizza and ice cream that day.
I started reading the book of mormon again... but for the first
time on my mission, im reading it in english. its pretty cool in english
too. Every time i read it, i learn something new. i love it!!!
Guys, i hope you study everyday from the scriptures. and pray all the
time, and always repent. I love you so much!
Please be happy and safe and i love you all!
Love,
Hna Evans
